Happy Birthday!

Today is my baby's 3rd birthday. I can't believe she's 3 already! Seems like just yesterday we welcomed our little bundle of joy, Jaana Josephine Whitmore, into our family. She was named after a couple great aunts, and we chose a Finnish spelling for her first name. My great-grandparents on my mom's side came to the U.S. from Finland.

I always have ideas and thing I think I'd like to do--write letters to my kids for the future, scrapbook their pictures and memoriabilia, make crafts for them, create memories, etc. Somehow life makes those things hard to get to. For right now, I will spend time with them, and teach them what I can from God's Word.

What will our children remember about us? What will they recall from their life?

  1. Hi Jamie! I'm proud to say that I'll be the first follower of your blog. ;) (I saw it posted on facebook.) I can't believe Jaana is 3 already!

  2. I had a surprise comment from one of my college guys the end of this summer. We were picking apples getting ready to make apple cider. This has been NOT lots of fun but become a chore the last five years or so. And he commented several times how much he loved having trees to climb, apples to pick, and cider almost always available for a while in the fall. Hear what he said... that job that I complained about for the last several years is now privilege when I'm home from college and get to do it with the family. That made my day and convinced me to keep forcing the ones still home to help with the family chores.
